Description
MASURKAR HOSPITAL was founded by Dr Shamala A Masurkar (Gynaecologist & Anaesthetist) & Late Dr Arun G Masurkar (General Surgeon) in 1973. Both studied in Mumbai city at the GS Medical College & T N Medical colleges respectively and had a burning desire to introduce specialised care in Obstetrics, Gynaecology & General Surgery; (which in those days was available only to people living in big cities) into rural Karnataka.
It was the first ever consultant run hospital in the taluka town of Gokak & was set up on rented premises in the heart of the town.
